Dr Tim Stolz BSc (ANU) BDSc(Melb)
Implant Complications Pathogenesis of peri-implantitis Welcome back to Dr Tim Stolz, who has previously presented to BDSG.
Tim gained his B.Sc. from A.N.U. in 1970. He worked in CSIRO as a research assistant for a year. He graduated from dentistry at Melbourne in 1976. Following this he has practiced in Geelong in the same general practice since graduating. He started implant prosthetics in 1992; started implant surgery in 1994. He was involved in development of full arch framework design with Peter Vryonis and Andrew Flood in 1998, and again in 2004 with Titanium Design in Adelaide, where Cobalt-chrome was developed as a framework material. Tim has run training courses in implant dentistry for dentists in Melbourne, and across central and western Victoria. He is a faculty member of the Australasian Institute for Dental Education and Research. Research projects include: Multicentre study on Procera under the supervision of Pat Henry (2000), Survival rate for immediate implants (2004), Crestal bone loss: an analysis of four systems (2008), Implant complications in general practice: a 5 yr retrospective study (2010-2011). He has lectured widely on the Eastern seaboard on topics related to implant dentistry. Tim is currently working predominantly as an implant dentist between his practice in Geelong and Melbourne where he manages about 350- 400 implant cases per year. |
